The United States of America is the youngest country in the world and yet the most powerful.  It has been the most generous country and responsible for helping more nations than any other country.  It is the only country in the world that people flock to who pursue freedom.

How is it possible that a country just 200 years old can amass so much power to be the lone superpower in the world?  How is it that out of all the countries in the world, the United States of America has the oldest living constitution?  How is it that freedom and democracy has spread to more countries because of the efforts of the United States of America, while other countries do little?  The answer is Jesus Christ.  We as a country have tried to live up to a much higher standard than any other country in the world.  That standard has been set by Our Founding Father, Jesus Christ.

The United States of America has been the source of more inventions that have improved the life and health of mankind throughout the world more than any other country.  Flight, telephones, medical advancements and the Internet are just a few of the staggering technological advancements and accomplishments that have been made as a result of American ingenuity.  Is it a coincidence?  Absolutely not, it’s Jesus Christ.

There is no doubt that the foundations of this country are built upon a Rock and that Rock is Jesus Christ.  Since the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock, their early efforts resulted in the birth of a nation whose roots are our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Have you ever read the Mayflower Compact?  It reads as follows;

"In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord, King James, by the Grace of God, of England, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, e&. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In Witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, King James of England, France and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini, 1620."

These people took an extraordinary step in the name of Jesus Christ by giving up their lives and possessions because God had placed in their hearts.  Forty one of the 102 passengers aboard the Mayflower signed the Mayflower Compact but all were a part of God’s plan for this nation.  It is clear that the purpose of the voyage was for the Advancement of the Christian Faith.  That is not an interpretation, it is written with those exact words in the second sentence.  Remember, this document is the first whose purpose was to establish written laws on this soil and it is the very first document that clearly states that the power will be with the people.  The Pilgrims were the seeds of a new and great nation and their King was Christ.
